Science Alive visited the Frost Science Museum in Miami to get new ideas for our hydroculture gardens at Nova Blanche Foreman Elementary. An aspect of the museum that caught our attention were the giant hanging plant gardens that were attached to the ceilings in front of the museum. these garden systems got their water via a drip-feed water system. Another aspect of the museum (which we are now incorporating into the Science Alive program) are the bottle-growing plant kits we saw in the gift shop. We are going to take this idea and expand upon it further in upcoming events, and we cant wait to share what we have planned with the students!
