What Do We Do?
Every week our students work hard to engage the students of Nova Blanche Elementary with new and exciting activities. These activities must be:
Versatile: Manageable and interesting for students K-5
Engaging: Keeping the students interested after a long day of school
Educational: Every student should walk away knowing something new

Below are some highlighted activities, covering diverse material over a wide range of topics:

Activity List:

Highlighted Marine Biology Activity: Rubber Duck Bycatch

Picture
In this activity, the students get to learn about how different fishing methods result in by-catch of untargeted species, and the best part is they get to fish for rubber ducks! Once the ducks and fishing implements are constructed, this activity is very easy to run, with little set-up required. It can also be conducted without water if unavailable, with the ducks placed in an empty bin.
