Highlighted Marine Biology Activity: Rubber Duck Bycatch
In this activity, the students get to learn about how different fishing methods result in by-catch of untargeted species, and the best part is they get to fish for rubber ducks! Once the ducks and fishing implements are constructed, this activity is very easy to run, with little set-up required. It can also be conducted without water if unavailable, with the ducks placed in an empty bin.
